How can I serve locally?
We partner with many local ministries and organizations throughout the year to help meet physical and spiritual needs in Bartlett and beyond. See how you can get involved with local missions by browsing our current opportunities below. Check back often for new ways to join us in what God is doing in the Bartlett community and greater Memphis areas.
Kids Beach Club
Altruria Elementary School | Bartlett, TN
God has given us the incredible opportunity to reach children for Christ in our neighboring public school, Altruria Elementary. Kids Beach Club is an after school Bible club for 3rd —5th graders on Thursday afternoons. Through songs, games, and interactive Bible lessons many children hear the gospel for the very first time. Every child who participates receives their own Bible to take home. This is the only copy of God’s Word that many of our families have ever had. Our program is not possible without the support of our church family! We need group leaders, prayer partners, snack providers and more.
University of Memphis BCM | Memphis, TN
Each semester Bartlett Baptist hosts FLOW “Free Lunch on Wednesdays” for the University of Memphis Baptist Collegiate Ministries. Teams of BBC volunteers help prepare and serve lunch to college students. These students from all parts of campus will hear the gospel and have the opportunity to get connected to the BCM. We need individuals, connect groups, and groups of friends to help each semester with lunch and campus outreach. A free meal may just be what connects someone to Christ for the very first time.
Bartlett Baptist Church | Bartlett, TN
Bartlett Baptist hosts beginner English classes for internationals in our community each Wednesday night from 6:00-7:15 PM from September-May. English as a second language classes not only meet an important need, but they also open the door for gospel conversations and faith-filled fellowship. No language experience other than English is required to teach or assist in this ministry.
World Relief Memphis | Memphis, TN
Today, there are over 80 million people around the globe who have been forced, or made the painful choice, to leave their home. After years of fleeing violence, famine and extreme poverty, their greatest hope is that they’ll find a safe place to rebuild their lives and call home. Memphis is home to thousands of refugees facing this harsh reality. Bartlett Baptist is just beginning it’s partnership with World Relief to help vulnerable immigrants in our community find hope in Jesus and rebuild their lives. Stay tuned for more ways you can get involved!
Did You Know?
Bartlett Baptist’s missions budget is funded solely through designated gifts from people like you, not through general budget giving. Your generosity allows us to send teams, provide equipment, and carry out missions efforts that help take the gospel to our neighborhoods and the nations. Additionally, through your generosity, we are able to offer partial scholarships to every mission trip participant in need of financial assistance.
