WHAT ARE WE DOING?

We have been carrying debt on the building for 19 years. We believe it is time to greatly reduce the debt through a giving initiative called Next Steps. Our preliminary findings, based on survey results and a known formula for calculating capacity, show that we can give $2.7 million over the next three years.  Our ultimate “Hallelujah” goal is the see the entire debt paid off in 3 years.

WHY ARE WE DOING IT?

We have a desire to see our church family become everyday disciples where we work, play, and live. Our heart is to disciple parents who pour into their children and disciple their kids to be followers of Jesus. We desire to support our students on short term mission trips. We long to hear stories of transformation in our homes, schools, city, state and around the world. What would that look like if an additional $300 thousand per year were funneled to ministry?

WHY NOW?

The work of the ministry is more desperately needed in our world today than ever before. Opportunities in the 10-40 window are closing quickly.  We are hearing more and more opposition to the gospel every day.  Even in our country, for the first time in history, more than 50% of Millennials, who are the parents of our 5–18-year-olds, are identifying as non-Chrisitan.  In every previous generation, more than 50% have identified as Christian.

HOW MUCH?

The outstanding principal on the loan is $4.2 million. If we pay off the loan according to the terms on the current loan in 2043, we will pay the $4.2 million plus an additional $4 million in interest. Raising the estimated $2.7 million over the next three years makes a significant impact on reducing that debt.

WHAT ARE WE ASKING YOU TO DO?

Pray

Ask God to work in your heart to be obedient in giving.  Talk to Him about providing the increase in ways we can’t imagine. Lift our church to Him in prayer that we may live out our purpose to glorify Him and make disciples.

Prepare

Evaluate your family budget and spending habits.  Can you give up one fast food meal a week and give that amount?  Can you sell something and give that amount? How can your family carve out dollars to set aside for the work of the ministry?

Participate

When Commitment Day comes, joyfully choose to be part of the work God is doing here.
